image for The Land of TV Spinoffs A Scene From "My Name Is Not Earl"

This article appears in this week's edition of "TV Territory," an entertainment weekly publication dedicated to the notion that television viewing is still #2 on the list of favorite things for a husband and wife to do.

And according to an unbiased independent survey conducted by The Unbiased Independent Survey Organization (based in Chattanooga, Tennessee), TV viewing has also recently moved up to #7 on the list of favorite things for little kids to do.

NBC has announced plans for the character of Darnell Turner, played by actor Eddie Steeples, to star in a spinoff of the popular TV sit-com show "My Name Is Earl."

The comedic half-hour spinoff will be titled "My Name Is Not Earl." In this show tentatively scheduled to premier on October 31, The character of Darnell has since divorced his sensuously sexy wife Joy, played by Jaime Pessly, and he has now moved into a two-story duplex in Monrovia (Calif.) with the sensuously sexy Catalina, played by Nadine Velazquez.

Together he and Catalina have taken out a small business loan and opened up a fast food eatery named "Catalina's Catalina Island Ice Cream Parlor & Puerto Rican/Soul Fried Food Palace."

The Show's executive producer, W. Covington Pinkapank, III, (heir to the Pinkapank Nail Clipper Corporation) stated that an on-going premise of the new show will be that each week's episode will feature a cameo by a well-known person appearing as one of the restaurant's waiters or waitresses.

Pinkapank says that so far the list of well-known celebrities who have agreed to appear on "My Name Is Not Earl" includes, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Beyonce, Bob Dylan, Michelle Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Lt. Gen. Russel L. 'The Ragin' Cajun' Honore, Sean Combs, Eva Longoria, Anderson Cooper's 84-year-old mother Gloria Vanderbilt, Eli Manning, and Simon Cowell.

The show will be marketed in Latin American under the name "Mi Nombre No Es Earlo."

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
