When you were very tiny,
You tripped & cut your knee.
I put on a plaster & said,
"Be a brave soldier for Mummy"

Now from just 10 inches long at birth,
to over 6ft tall and Twenty one,
I am in awe at just how far
that brave soldier has come.

Now you are off
to the real army.
A real true life
brave soldier to be.

If you ever feel Scared,
worried or alone -
Just close your eyes
brave soldier, and think of home.

Don't hesitate in battle,
don't think just do!
We are here waiting,
brave soldier for you.

I wont be there,
to plaster that knee.
But with you each step,
'til My brave Soldier returns to me.
