Tribute Bands and Psychics (to the tune of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious)

I went down to my local theatre just the other night
The programme and the posters there, they gave me quite a fright
For there was nothing else to see a-treading of the boards
Except these acts which do attract the populace in hordes

(Chorus) It’s… tribute bands, tribute bands, tribute bands and psychics
Retro groups and charlatans, they seem to think you’ll like it
If you want original, you may well have to hike it
It’s what they’ve got, so that’s your lot, tribute bands and psychics
Um-diddle-iddle-diddle-um-diddle-i
Um-diddle-iddle-diddle-um-diddle-i

I went to see a Beatles act, and they weren’t bad at all
One played the bass left-handed, and looked a bit like Paul
But when they started talking about selling their CDs
I remembered Sergeant Pepper's, and thought “Why would I buy these?”

(Chorus)

Then I went to a psychic show that they were advertising
The woman on the stage that night was quite mesmerising
She hypnotised a punter who she dangled by a thread
He thought he was a Labrador ‘cos he was easily led

(Chorus)

If you like Robbie Williams, Metallica and Queen
The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Springsteen
There’s only One Direction that your Little Feat should tread
Or find your local open mic, and just go there instead

(Chorus – minus the um-diddles))

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
