Did we lie about emissions from our diesel engines? That's not a fair question, not at all. In fact, the entire format of this . . . this inquisition is unfair!

It is typical of the liberal media to play gotcha with questions like that. That's why we should be allowed to do our own testing, and just hand over our results to the EPA.

In the future, that's the only basis on which we'll agree to cooperate with government agencies.

We'll tell you whether our engines are clean or not, and you'll just have to swallow it. And the same goes for our mileage figures. When we say that you'll get 75 miles per gallon from our cars and trucks, even when you press the pedal to the metal, just shut your traps and believe it.

Okay, okay, maybe I'm over reacting. But really, it's not as if we out and out lied about our emission test results. We just exaggerated a teeny bit. It's not like we claimed that we were offered a scholarship to West Point (where tuition is free), or claimed that Planned Parenthood is "not actually doing women's health issues."

It's not like we said that Bernie plans "to raise your taxes to 90 percent," or denied saying that Marco Rubio is Mark Zuckerberg's "personal senator."

I could go on, but you get the point.

I mean, c'mon! It's not like we're asking you to choose us as leader of the free world!
