Port Augusta, South Australia, is part of the "Iron Triangle" which sister town Whyalla is part of.
Port Augusta is effectainly called Port Agutta and houses many attractions such as the two lane Port Augusta bridge which was used in the film "Wolf Creek"
Further attractions are the alcohol free dry zone covering the whole town, don't worry folks you can drink in the hotels but not in the streets or parks. Dancing is allowed but not with a beer can in your hand.
If you want something different the local prison in the town has daily tours and visitors are advised strongly not to feed the prisoners.
The town even has a Hunger Jack's fast food restaurant (for our cousins in the USA it's part of Burger King, check out the story in Wikipedia).
For world famous attractions I have saved the best for last the Port Augusta coal fired Power Station.
When driving through the town make sure you keep the windows tightly closed as the Power Station likes to share it's perfume aroma that controls the insect population.
Of course there's more to Port Agutta than my mere few words can describe, so travel fans book your next holiday in the outback tourist destination of Port Augusta.
