I sat down with motivational speaker and author Frank Farnsworth to talk about his new book The Farnsworth Factor.
"Frank," I said, "what exactely is the Farnsworth Factor?"
"The Farnsworth Factor, if applied correctly, is the one factor that will give you the skills necessary to live your life to the fullest."
"Can you give me an example?"
"Sure. Say your wife has just told you she wants a divorce, your stockbroker has just told you that all your stocks are now worthless and your minister has just told you that he has inside information that you are going to spend eternity in hell. Okay?"
"What do you do?"
"You tell me."
"You apply the Farnsworth Factor."
"Great, but again, what is the Farnsworth Factor?"
The Farnsworth Factor, if applied correctly, is the one factor that will give you the necessary skills to live your life to the fullest."
"Is it like a person should never quit trying?"
"Well, what the hell is it?"
"Are you deaf, or what? I already told you twice what it is."
"Look, Farnsworth, you're the one one who called me wanting to do an interview. Remember? But I'm beginning to think you have no idea what you're talking about."
"Have you read my book?"
"No, I couldn't find a copy."
"Want to know why?"
"I haven't written the book yet."
"I just wanted to get your take on the title."
"The Farnsworth Factor?"
"Just okay? Are you kidding me? It's a tremendous title. What would you call my book? The Farnsworth Fragment. How lame is that? You couldn't come up with a book title if your life depended on it."
"Let's just go with The Fricken' A Farnsworth Folly."
