In a recent interview we asked Paul McCartney and Ringo who were together for the first time on a recent Television Event, what would it have been like if Paul had been shot and killed instead of John Lennon?

Paul: Well, I certainly wouldn't have been here for you to ask me that.

Ringo: I remember John. Haven't seen him for a bit.

So he would have joked around?

Ringo: He was always pulling pranks. It was his idea to push the buttons on that Paul is dead back in the 60's. Although that whole thing came by an accident and John was all for pushing it. Actually it was fun, especially one time when we were playing and John introduced Paul as the 'Late Paul McCartney'.

Paul: John would have been doing the same thing we are now only maybe a lot worse. He would have probably gone back to my previous death and say something like, "See, I tried to tell you he was dead. That stupid kid shot an imposter."

This is getting to sound a lot like the old days.

Ringo: Do not use that with me. I will never be the old days. Every day is new.

Would George have contributed to the banter?

Paul: No. Maybe some. But George was always pretty serious about his life and his music. But he was an OK guy. He was the straight guy of the group, I guess.

Ringo: Yes. To make up for the one with the less talent.
