CSI: Miami

Controversy about the use of background music has halted the filming of a CSI: Miami feature-length movie about Florida serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

The ex-hooker was executed in 2002 at Broward Correctional Institution after murdering seven Florida men and her sordid life story has been the subject of several psychological documentaries.

Now, true to its police procedural format, the CIS: Miami bio-pic is focusing on forensic work that finally nailed the mass-murdering woman.

However studio bosses are getting a lot of flack over a 1982 pop song that the movie's director suggested using during some of the autopsy scenes.

Actress Khandi Alexander who plays the show's medical examiner Dr Alexx Wood is said to be particularly unhappy about scenes of her extracting DNA samples from Wuornos' hair and clothing.

"It's not the actual handling of semen that bothers me," the actress explained.

"It's the use of the 1982 single by Dexys Midnight Runners, Come On Aileen."

Quite.
