Extract from Story:
A man who arrived at work this morning, only to be told that he should go home again because the government had just announced a second lockdown, has said he was well and truly pissed off, because his wife, who had brought him to work on her motorbike, had already disappeared from the scene. This is 4 months before MW died of Covid. It speaks of a very rich and interesting way of life; very different than the one most of us have chosen to live. I don’t remember the last time my wife drove me to work on the back of a motorcycle, but that’s just as well.

This story speaks of someone in desperate financial straits because of a pandemic and a system where teachers pay stopped when the government shut down the schools. That didn’t happen in my country.

It speaks of a wife, a mother ( MW had children ) very soon to be a widow and a widow in financial straits.

At the end of our literary efforts here at The Spoof, there is a statement claiming that the stories are not real.

But this story is not a parody nor a satire. It is not at all entirely fictitious. This is what was going on in his life just before he died.

I feel we have ignored this incredible tragedy. This didn’t fully occur to me until I read this story the day before yesterday.

I wonder if there anyone in the Spoof “family” who can think of a way in which his family could be assisted? If there is, I would be happy to help. It seems like the time of year when this kind of effort would be appropriate.
