Firstly, I thought that 'real' news stories were taboo here on the Spoof. This is a blatant news story with a subtle twist, but sorry, it is just too near the real story. I have had so many spoofs rejected because I dared use a 'real' news story and put my not so subtle twist to it!! Outrageous double standards here!

Secondly: As a book author I would not dare put my internet links underneath my spoofs!! This is blatant free-bee marketing! If I did such outrageous things, Mark would ban me!! In addition, our wonderful co-editor, you know who he is, condones it and, thinks this type of spoof is incredible!! What the fuck is going on here???

Level playing fields, my butt!! Double standards for some here, fantastic!! Just do what you want and put your URL's up and links to your fabulous internet sites!

I once paid Mark a substantial amount of money to promote my book here! This writer get's away with murder and tells the world for nothing about her other projects on every singe spoof she posts. Sorry, I need an explanation how she get's away with it. Quite incredible, unless she is paying Mark thousands for the pleasure, which I doubt very much.

If I don't get an explanation, then I'll bang my website links on every post I write too, but I know dear MW or Mark will reject and remove them....Or demand mega-bucks for the pleasure...

If I remember rightly, the stories you had rejected were 'the real stories with a few expletives thrown in, plus phrases in brackets, plus some curious asides'.

The truth is, that, although K.C. Bell uses real information, she adds something to her stuff by way of political commentary - something you didn't do - and she makes it funny with references to past events, historical happenings, showbiz, and the like. They are opinion pieces - that's why most of them are in the Magazine.

This seems to be 'par for the course', JO, unfortunately.

To start with, I hit 'Discuss this in the forum', and made a perfectly acceptable comment about the story.

In response, you rode in on your high horse, ranting about something that would have been better taken up with Mark via the message system, than in the forum. As I said to you already, you had a valid question, but you always enjoy playing the 'victim'.

Instead of just raising the question about links, you had to go further. You started the by-now familiar spoken-from-behind-the-hand taunts directed towards Mark and myself

pretending to be ambiguous, as if this were, in itself, somehow 'funny'.

Apart from the fact you mis-quoted me, I did think her article was good, and, it being an opinion piece and NOT a news story, I put it in the Magazine.

That is what the Magazine is for.

The stories of yours that were rejected by Mark were invariably identified, by yourself, as news stories. I believe that was the problem - you were reproducing a real news story with no twists or extra information that would have been seen as funny.

Anybody who has the will and determination to finish writing a book, has my utmost respect.

And a Hollywood film contract? Wow! That's fantastic! And all the more curious that, with all that success you've had, you still found it in your heart to genuinely complain that somebody else was being allowed to do something you're not on a spoof news website.

She's not my favourite US spoofer. I like her stuff - it bounces along, she throws in her comments, she includes supporting stuff, and ends in a coherent way.

If I had to choose my favourite, however, I'd choose Dave Henry. In the spirit of being fair, and giving others a chance, you could do worse than checking out his stuff.

In the interests of being prudent, JO, we really don't know yet what Mark's response is.

Maybe K.C. Bell has a similar kind of arrangement with Mark as you said you, yourself, once had. How do we know?

Rather than using words like "despise", and phrases like "abusing ther rights", shouldn't we wait to see how things turn out?
