They even put the pope in a glass cage on a truck when he visited.

I think he would look good in formaldehyde.

You could fill his pope mobile plexi-case with him in it.

It would be like a giant snow globe.

And get Damien Hurst to cut him in two.

They could call it "The impossibility of organised religion in the mind of someone sensible".

The logistics would be difficult. You’d have to tie his feet to the base or he’d float around in his white dress like a ghost. If Mr Hurst cut him in half inside his snow globe would we see his soul shining in the middle...or not?

I think short lengths of rope tied to his ankles would allow some lifelike motion at bumps in the road while safely preventing him from unrestrained action

Yes but think of the possibilities if you cut him in half, then he could tour in two countries at the same time! "Today the western half of the Poop was in Ireland, while the eastern half was in Los Angelos. Both halves agreed that women should be allowed in the clergy."

Do you think he looks like a shark? I think he looks like a shark. Only when he's underwater, mind.

Or is it the other way round?

Bishops would look more like a shark in the water wearing their mitre, a two finned shark.

If they were underwater for long enough they would just look like corpses.

Then you could hang treble hooks off their feet and use 'em for fishing.
