Canada celebrated 'Canada Day' twice. Once on July 1st - the true birthday of the nation which was celebrated in Ottawa royally, with the attendance of Prince William and his lovely new bride, Kate.
She wore a stunning red and white outfit during the day...Canadian colours...of course, and wowed the crowds. Many Canadians did enjoy a Friday away from work.
Sadly, some miserly employers did NOT allow their employees to take the day off to celebrate. The greedy bastards made their workers stay on the job.
These workers celebrated on July 2nd having 'recorded' the Ottawa July 1st celebrations and fireworks.
When asked how they felt about it, a red-neck (yes, we have them in Canada too but they have different accents to the American red-necks) said,
"Well ya knows we weren't raaat pleased but we did get are fireworks harf praaass this mornin' so it ain't ALL bad. Mine you, some o' them looked a bi' used to me if you want the trooth of it all.
We used some of are home-made ones but Ah lost two fingers on ma raat hand when Ah lets one off. Luckily it missed ma nose though."
When asked what he thought about the William and Kate's visit to Ottawa, he answered,
"Who's dem then? Oh, yeah! Ah did see a coupla posh Brits on the recordin' we made but we only recorded it fer them thar fireworks. Ah does remember 'earin bowt them gettin' wed laark. Arm not tot'ly indignified. No siree Chuck!"
Well, at least everyone had a chance to celebrate Canada's birthday in their own SPECIAL WAY!
