The sudden resignation of Karl Theodore Zu Guttenberg, Germany's Defence Minister and the country's most popular politician has sent shock waves around the world.
Guttenberg was accused of plagiarising large tracts of text and stealing ideas from other books and the internet for his doctoral dissertation.
His friends have stated that Karl was merely living up to his name and believed that, because he could read, everything that had ever been written was his property to do with as he willed.
