In what has been considered a clear signal that civil war is imminent in Libya, Libya's embattled leader Moammar Gaddafi has found an online American flag maker who is willing to sell to him their entire stock of Confederate flags at a discounted price.
Gaddafi claims that the solid green flag of Libya is just not battle-appropriate and claims that there is no time to design a new flag due to the fact that a civil war is imminent.
A little known fact about Gaddafi is that he is quite a Civil War buff and he claims, "I've always been partial to the design of the American Confederate flag," he said through an interpreter.
Gaddafi has also indicated that he is adopting the Confederate War song "When Johnny Comes Marching Home," as his side's war song. The only change to the song he says he'll make will be to change the name of the hero from Johnny to Abdul. He indicated that while this was not his first choice in songs, "Away Down South in Tripoli" just didn't make any sense.
With a popular flag and an even more popular war song, Gaddafi is confident his side will prevail when it comes to blows. The only thing he needs now, he claims, is a good recipe for Johnnycake, "whatever that is," he said with a laugh.
