image for Waterford Falls Off The Map - Crap Journalism Horror
Storm over Waterford.

Four years after a Waterford man successfully campaigned to get his home town included on a TV station's weather map, it has disappeared again and a news organisation has failed to find out why.

Cian Foley was annoyed that TV3 weather bulletin maps excluded Waterford and when he won his fight to have the city included he said: "It's not right to leave out one city and it's not helpful from a tourism point of view."

Now the UK weekly newspaper for the Irish community, The Irish World, notes that TV3 seems to have dropped Waterford again.

In a piece of ace journalism, the paper reports:"Mr Foley says he was surprised to hear that Waterford had been dropped and that he may enquire as to why." (Italics added).

We contacted The Irish World to get to the bottom of the story. A spokesman told us: "Ah go on! It's not our job to find out this stuff is it? That's not journalism, is it?

"You honestly think we should have found out what had happened and asked yer man what he thought about it? That sounds like an awful lot of hard work - not journalism as we know it. Not at all, at all"

EIF News & Features didn't contact TV3 simply because we're not really arsed.

Make Ellis Ian Fields's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
