With the 33 Chilean miners soon to find themselves back on the surface stories of survival techniques are now been told by their loved ones.
Susan Muvova the wife of Horga a trapped miner told us how US survival specialists convinced the men to stay focused and hopeful. It truly is a heart warming story of courage and resilience in the face of immense odds.
'They tell Horga and the rest of his compadres to play games and congratulate the winner to give him hope,' Susan told us. 'So, they play noon and night, not that they know the difference. One of the men even fashioned a little winner's cup out of his belt buckle and now his trousers keep falling down,' she mused.
'My Horga won lots of times and even topped the league table at day 12. He telephone me that night specially to say he winner and even though it was 3.am I not mad as he not know how late it was.
'The atmosphere around the camp is one of huge wonder and anticipation as to the winner of what now has to be as important as Chilly winning the football world cup,' Susan insists.
Turns out the miners are keeping the winner's name a secret until they are all above ground at which point they will announce it to the entire world's media. We asked Susan if she could at least tell us what game it was that had kept them alive all this time in such cramped conditions with nothing more than mere lamps to see by.
'Oh, I can tell you that,' she said 'It's I spy with my littlest eye!'
