Poor Little Tyke Was Bleary-eyed and Stank of Booze, says Eye Witness.
The soft toy world is reeling in shock following reports of a second scandal in three days. Earlier this week Australian police seized a British teddy bear caught behaving suspiciously on a flight to Melbourne. Now it has been revealed that a tiger cub was pulled unconscious from the luggage of a Thai woman trying to board a flight to Iran.
Eagle-eyed officials at Bangkok airport were scanning a large bag of stuffed toys when they noticed that one of them was breathing regularly. It also had a skeleton and a full set of body organs. When they opened the bag and pulled it out, they discovered a live tiger cub zipped into a Pudsey bear outfit.
"This is the most brazen deception since ET first hid in Gertie's cupboard" said the airport's Wildlife Trafficking Officer, as he let the cat out of the bag. "The poor little thing was red-eyed and groggy when we pulled it out. We set it down on the floor and it staggered around, reeking of vodka and Red Bull."
Questioned by police, the woman denied ever seeing the tiger in her life before and claimed it must have been put there by a disgruntled employee at the Pudsey factory.
The two-month-old cub was taken to a wildlife sanctuary to sober up. The woman has been charged with offences of smuggling, animal trafficking and giving alcohol to a minor.
