Wale the U.S. based smooth, good looking and extra cute Rapper is facing bitch lashing after making a decision to cancel a scheduled performance at an event for a U.S. Gay and Lesbian community.
Wale is an American rapper from Washington, who, by the way says he's straight, has backed out of a Black Gay Pride event where he was scheduled to headline the Legacy Festival and Wellness Expo May 30th for the annual D.C. Black Pride event.
It may sound like a simple easy to understand decision, but the unexpectedly pulling of the plug has lead organisers of the event to call foul, or homophobe.
Earl Fowlkes, a Black Pride board member, is speaking out about the straight Wale and says that he's homophobic. Why? Well you wee the organisers say hey had an agreement, and the were very clear to the different parties and agents involved that this was an LGBT event.
Now from where I sit what happened is that when the first blast went out that Wale was going to be at Black Pride he got cold feet, and his agent first said Wale wasn't available because he had to do family stuff.
O.K. fair enough........but you see he had to go and throw a stick onto the pile by sending Black Pride an e-mail saying he didn't know what kind of event this was when he agreed to it....? Odd, the name doesn't hide anything to me.
Jesse Kirshbaum, "representative" for Wale, says those claims are not true, hmmmmm, he recalls the email in a different way.
Kirshbaum says the email said Wale wanted to cancel shows in various markets in May alone due to his extensive spring touring of over 50 shows in March and April, in an effort to record new music and spend time with his family.
Well it's borer line, but one smells a little phobic feel by Wale's action, only because of this statement that he felt like he was mislead saying all of the facts of the event were not disclosed with the offer and therefore, he feels mislead and regretfully declines.
D.C. Black Pride plans to release an official statement on his cancellation and has hired Jay Holiday to replace him.
