image for Vast Atlantis-era castle rises near Galapagos islands following Chile tremor
View from satellite footage: the edifice resembles Stonehenge

Pacific Ocean - (Tremors): A vast Stonehenge-like structure has appeared 100 miles south west of Floreana close to the island's 'Devil's Crown' underwater volcanic cone.

The edifice rose from the shaken seabed on the back of a pre-crustacean era rock formation soon after Saturday's 8.8 quake struck the Chilean town of Contraception.

Satellite imagery shows huge gold pillars supporting what appears to be a massive UFO dome.

According to witness reports the shining red metallic - orichalc? - disc is encrusted with millenia of barnacle outcrops and may be sheltering a colony of gigantic Pacific killer squid.

The existence of these phantom beasts was originally recorded by Juan José Flores, the first president of neaby Ecuador.

In March 2009 Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall visited the Galapagos in a bid to claim territorial ownership.

Their legal challenge to the island formation's sovreignity forms part of the daftass Amazon Offence Coalition's attempt to sue the Chevron oil corporation for $27 billion.

The suit has been dubbed the judicial equivalent of the Keystone Cops on LSD.

Christopher Columbus once took a lengthy holidday on nearby Darwin Island.
