image for Rising sea levels mystery solved
Sea levels, yesterday

For years the sea levels globally have been rising and homes and villages on the east cost of England have been lost to the sea as coastal erosion advances.

On the Yorkshire coast alone, five houses worth a total £18,000 have fallen over the cliff leaving their owners homeless. However the problem now appears to have been solved.

When Labour won the general election comedy funny man Jim Davdison kept his promise and left the country, however he recently returned to pick up some old joke books. When he went for a number 1 he discovered he had left in such a hurry he had left the bath running.

The running tap for the last 10 years has flooded his house and the water has run into the river, raising sea levels by 5cm. Since he turned it off sea levels have already fallen again by 2cm and are expected to be back to normal again soon.

Government advice is that if you live next door to a racist funnyman who has left our shores, please pop round to check the bath is not running.

Davidson said, "It was the hot tap as well, so not only do I have a massive water bill, I also have a massive gas bill. Thats the panto money gone already". The fact it was the hot tap may also explain why the sea temperatures are rising and melting the north pole.

Make Raffles Cholmondley Smyth's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
