Following typical US focused voting and tally procedures by People Magazine and others, a new format "sexiest man" competition has been expanded to include votes from across the globe. Recently announced 2010 winners will include Hugh Jackman and George Clooney.
Sponsored by International Male Model and Latex Emporium Limited, interviewers were sent to the farthest reaches of the earth for votes, carrying pictures of 100 male candidates for 2010 voting. Results were typical from must industrialized countries, showing a wide voting spilt across 15 to 20 candidates, but certain small island nations showed a very specific preference for two men, which tipped the voting in favor of Clooney and Jackman.
"Papua, New Guinea and Vanuato Island in the French Republic of the South Pacific provided the most definitive results", says IMMLEL marketing director, Skip Dezaert. "The villagers there clearly preferred Hugh Jackman and George Clooney for some reason".
When asked why he thought the results were skewed towards the two, Dezaert said, "Our interpreters had a little trouble with the explanation, but they managed to interpret the words delicious and beefy in their voting record. One tribal leader in Vanuatu spoke a little French but only managed to utter mirepoix and cabernet".
Reporters were quick to note the significance of those island locations to Dezaert, including the long standing traditions of cannibalism there. "That might explain the voting comments, but clearly I would have to agree with their sentiments", says Dezaert. "A Jackman and Clooney sandwich. Couldn't you just eat them up?"
