There was near-pandemonium in a Bangkok school this lunchtime, when an English teacher originally from Hull in East Yorkshire, spotted the upset remnants of a child's dinner on the stairs, but refused to do anything about it, and left it right where it was!
The teacher - me - saw the disgusting mess on the stairs between the first and second floor at the school I'm teaching at, which, for legal reasons, cannot be named.
Oh, fuck it, I'll name it. It's the Samsen Witthalayai School.
Anyway, the dinner had been spilt on the landing in a very dangerous location, but I flatly refused to have anything to do with it. The contents of the meal were rice with a mushy kind of fishy thing, with fish bones and scales. No wonder the poor bastard whose dinner it was had dropped it! I would have done the very same thing in his or her position!
Not to worry though. There's a Lemon Green garage not too far away where you can buy sandwiches and drinks more to my Western tastes.
