TEHRAN -IRAN: As supporters of the pro-reform movement of Mir Hossein Mousavi took to the streets to protest the results of Iran's Presidential election, the Iranian Ministry of Disinformation went into overdrive.
Attempting to show not only Iranians who came out in droves to vote - but also the international community - that it believes in fair and transparent elections, Amere Jabberwocky, the spokesman of the Minister of Disinformation made this startling announcement on national TV:
"By all that is true we acknowledge that the figure of 62.6% awarded to the undisputed and pre-determined winner Ahmedinejad is indeed incorrect. We truly regret this inconvenience, pain and suffering to the good people of Iran.
We would like to amend this figure and declare that what we actually meant to say is that the win amount was 162.6%. Yes, you heard me correctly - it is One-hundred-and-sixty-two percent. The election official who dropped the number "1" from the real figure has been summarily executed upon orders from the Grand Council. This will teach the infidel BBC a good lesson".
