Following the discovery of three further jars of scrolls in a cave by the Dead Sea, biblical scholar Yehudi Matsushita has exclusively revealed to theSpoof.com the true meaning of this ancient enigma.
It would appear that the vast bulk of of the scrolls revelations relate to the origins of organised religion, but that there was another side to the ancient scribes who did the original scrolling.
One pot of scrolls was found to contain nothing but jokes. There were 'knock knock' jokes, 'Not' jokes, 'Mother In Law Jokes' and piles of wedding speech jokes.
Perhaps of more interest to us though are the contents of jar number 319, which contains reams of scrolls which at first glance appear to contain earth shattering news, but which upon close investigation turn out to be ancient spoofs.
They're all there, stories about outsized genitalia, complete lies about King Herod (the George W Bush of the day) and a veritable who's who of bonking in the ancient world.
We can reveal that some of the stories have been submitted to theSpoof.com for publication, but were considered to be a little short of the required standard and relegated to the Magazine section.
More as we get it.
