image for Japanese Police Are Looking For Mii
Japanese Eye-Witness

It now appears that the police in southern Japan are just too cheap to have a regular police sketch artist. That's because the police in question in this incident decided to use the Nintendo Wii's Mii creation feature to make an avatar that "looks" like the chief suspect in a hit-and-run case.

They carefully created a Mii that looked sorta like the suspect that was described to them.

The Mii created by the police in Kagoshimo, Japan appears to be a a young man with long brown hair and sunglasses.

They then created a poster including the Mii and added a picture of the type of car he was driving that they copied from an ad at a car dealership.

Considering the Japanese and their fascination with technology, it probably isn't a stretch to assume that there's a Nintendo Wii in the station house there somewhere.

"Obviously this isn't being used in a photo lineup" stated one officer, "just to try to get a lead."

As of this morning, there have been some 200,000 reports from all over the world of seeing this man during the past week, several on action cartoon shows.

Make Bureau's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
