North Pole, Alaska - Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer has been spotted doing some weight training up in the North Pole. He is dragging around old boxes loaded up with frozen snow to build stamina for the upcoming Christmas Eve flight around the world.
Rudolph and his other reindeer friends also go for a long run through the woods each morning at sunrise. They want to ensure they are at peak physical performance by the time Santa tells them to go into formation for the long sleigh ride throughout the entire world on Christmas Eve.
Santa and Mrs. Claus have been feeding Rudolph and all of the other reindeer special meals to build their strength. Rudolph even takes some special vitamins in the month of December. His regimen to prepare for the holiday flight is intensive and requires a lot of discipline.
Each December Rudolph gets many letters from children (and even some adults) all over the world. The elves read the letters to Rudolph. Each letter Rudolph hears really helps motivate him for the rigorous exercise he must do to prepare for the Christmas flight. Rudolph sends his love and thanks to everyone who has sent him a letter this year!
Just a few more weeks until Christmas. Rudolph continues to work out hard every day. He goes to sleep early to aid his endurance. He dreams pleasant dreams of flying high in the sky and then making stops at each and every home where children await holiday treats from Santa.
Rudolph is hoping Santa's sleigh will bring special gifts this year to children in war torn countries. Rudolph wants to bring peace to children everywhere and wishes for a wonderful 2009.
Will you stay up late on Christmas Eve hoping to spot a glance of Rudolph and Santa flying in their sleigh? I know I will. I light a candle in my front window and hope that as I look up at the night sky on the way home from Midnight mass I will see a formation of reindeer and Santa high in the sky busy on their journey of delivering joy to the children of the world.
