presumed hostage MacGuyver

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates --A security specialist from "The Phoenix Foundation", fifty-four year old Angus S. MacGuyver, was reported missing last week. In a letter received by the provisional authority, he was being held hostage in exchange for two Iraqis being held by the U.S. Marines for questioning.

In a letter received by Al Arabiya television, the Minnesota native was in good health, but his captors warned that the news of his capture would inflame the Arab world.

"We believe Mr. MacGuyver was a spy from the country of Switzerland, and demand that they pull all of their 'contractors' out of Iraq. We have proof of his ties from the spy gadget he attempted to escape from our flimsy ropes"

A spokesperson for the Phoenix Foundation had no comment on the matter. Little is known about the security firm, although Angus MacGuyver was a European racing league driver in the late 1970's. His ties to the Swiss paramilitary are unknown.

An official at the Swiss Embassy declined comment.
