Following the attack during Prime ministers question time this week Tony Blair has announced that John Prescott is to receive a Knighthood after he lept to the defense of Ministers with no thought for his own safety.

Speaking to journalists in a press conference the PM said "I would like to personally thank the right honorable member for his bravery in the face of what could have been a terrorist attack. Were it not for his quick actions this could have been a major tragedy"

Another MP who praised Mr Prescott's actions was the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, who said "While most MP's sat in confusion Mr Prescott leapt up with no thought for his own safety. If it had not been for several policemen holding him back i think he would have cleared the gallery singlehandedly"

As most MP's rushed in panic from the chambers Mr Prescott tore his jacket off and began shouting at the attackers to "Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough."
