The headquarters of satirical news website The Spoof were the site of a massive police raid today, after an attempt to unearth the internationally notorious, and notoriously international, the Phisherman's Phriend.
The 'Phriend' is a friend of the Phisherman, a ghost writer phishing under the name of Fenton Queue, who phished The Spoof for members' personal information in order to steal their meagre savings.
Queue came up blank, but his cunning associate, the Phriend, still roams the site phishing innocent writers' points, and rendering their presence there 'pointless'.
"He's clever," wrote one writer, adding "very clever."
Another, who didn't want to be named because he is a Points Whore, said:
"He's rated all my stories with one star, and pushed me into negative equity."
The raid on The Spoof's offices in Lancaster, UK, came at 6am, but police weren't able to gain access to the building until well after 10.00am when site owner Mark Lowton eventually managed to struggle out of bed.
"It's sad. Some writers have lost everything. The Phisherman's Phriend needs to be caught, and soon, so that others don't get their points sucked."
The police investigation is continuing, as usual, at a pathetically slow pace..
