Identical twin brothers Jerry and Jerome Jefferson have simultaneously spoken their first words ever at age eight. Their mother, Jennifer, said "This truly is a miracle. The Lord used that cute little dog with floppy ears to help make my mute children speak."
It was Friday, May 16, when the twin boys were in the shallow end of their swimming pool. Suddenly, a little dog hopped over the fence that surrounded their pool. In the process, it slipped and fell into the deep end.
Neither of the boys knew how to swim, and always avoided the deep end. So, they quickly got out of the pool, and went by the deep end to see if they could reach over to pull the dog up. The dog was dog paddling in the center of the deep end, however, where the boys could not reach from the outside.
The boys ran into their house to get their father, Jeff. Jeff reports, "The boys were gesturing to me frantically, but I couldn't figure out what they were trying to communicate, until suddenly, both of them, in unison, as if they rehearsed it, exclaimed with total clarity, 'There's a dog drowning in the pool!' I ran out to help the dog, and was able to safely pull the dog to land."
The dog was a miniature long-haired dachshund, identified as belonging to their neighbors who choose to remain anonymous. The dog suffered no injuries, thanks to the quick and miraculous reponse of the boys and their father.
The twins have since been speaking regularly, something that has brought joy to their whole family, other than their sister who wishes they were still quiet.
The twins' parents credit the dog for its role in this miracle.
