When the current French President married Carla Brunei, the daughter of the Sultan of Brunei, he did not know that there was baggage involved. Said a government spokesman who asked to remain anonymous and to only be identified by the initials J.B., "He thought that he was getting a young, hot, sexy, model. He wasn't aware of the rest of the package."
The "rest of the package" was not a child, a bun in the oven, a venereal disease, an ex-husband, a weird mother in law, or anything else that comes with marriage. According to International Law attorney Queenie Mudder, "It is the law in Brunei that a man who marries a single woman must also marry her unmarried older sisters (under the law, a man is allowed up to four wives)."
While Carla does not have any older, biological sisters who are unmarried, she does have one who is adopted. The Sultan has welcomed into his family "as one of my dear children" a celebrity who has been living in Brunei to avoid the scrutiny and intrusiveness of the world media.
This rich white woman started life as a black boy, but has had several surgeries and seeks to hide her celebrity.
President Sarkozy is now married to Michael Jackson.
