Minutes after the announcement of Jose Aznar's massive defeat in Spanish National elections, Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld urged the free world to intervene and restore law and order in the Iberian peninsula: "Socialist Jose Zapatero, the self proclaimed new Spanish Prime Minister, is a blood thirsty tyrant, a threat to world peace " said an angry Rumsfeld to reporters. " I urge all peace loving nations to wage a ruthless war against this lunatic, this new threat to humanity and our Americal way of life. Operation Spanish Freedom is under way. Regime change is our goal, as we want to relieve the proud Spanish people from the opressing boot of the brutal dictator" Rumsfeld emphasised.
When a reporter challenged Mr Rumsfeld, arguing that the new PM was elected directly by the Spanish people with an overwhelming majority and should be not branded a dictator, Rummy exploded "You must be one of those whimpy liberals aren't you? The will of the people is one thing. But I have yet to hear from the Spanish Supreme Court. That makes me suspicious. That should make YOU suspicious, if you were not so blinded by prejudice" Rumsfeld said to the stunned reporter.
The Defence Minister admitted delays in the implementation of Operation Spanish Freedom, which may prove hard to overcome. "I must at this point admit that we have nothing but a rough blueprint for our invasion in the Iberian peninsula. The country was off our radar screens as there are no oil reserves there. Nevertheless, Americans should not worry as our guys at the Pentagon are working 24/7 to come up with a plan for a full blown intervention". "The Spanish regime is accountable for attrocities, ethnic cleansing and genocide. The world does not and should not forget the brutality of the Spanish conquistadors during the battle of Tenochtitlan in 1521 were they wiped out the Aztecs using WMD. Links with Al Quaida are also a consideration."
" Colin (Powell) will present satellite photos and INTEL evidence in the next UN meeting due next week. Colin will be available for comment in a couple of hours" said Rumsfeld making his way to the exit through reporters."He has to complete his PhotoShop for Dummies session first".
