The German zoo where teensy little cute polar bear Knut is housed has reported falling numbers of visitors since the lovable little polar bear started to transform into a fully grown snarling beast.
"I guess everyone wants to see a cuddly little teddy bear," commented his keeper, "but its a different matter when you've got a 1/2 ton teeth-gnashing bear rocking back and forth in his pen."
One onlooker said "I brought my kids to see a capering little fluffball and all we got to see was this big white toothy thing tearing the heads off fish, the kids were very disappointed."
Zoo officials today confirmed that the official policy of "Returning animals to the wild once we have finished exploiting them" cannot be followed in this case as for polars bears, due to global warming, there is no "wild" to return to.
The zoo is said to be considering painting black patches on Knut and giving him to the Chinese as a gift.
