image for Truth in Coinage Outs Tony & Cleo
Antony and Cleopatra 's real images on ancient numisma

Philatelists the world over were shocked to discover that the renowned beauty of the Ancient Egyptian Empress was a myth.

Marc Antony's imagined Burtonesque Lime-ismo (The British version of Machismo) has also proven to be a big, fat lie since apparently Anthony was too..Greek.

Philatelist Telelesforo Philo commented: "I've always loved television from my youngest days watching Sesame Street and Miste Rogers' Neighborhood! But when I saw the recently excavated ancient Roman coin depicting Anthony and Cleopatra as the leading dog and dog-ess of antiquity then I knew TV was king!".

Numismatists the world over tuned in to the TV reports creating the greatest collaboration between Philatelists and coin-collectors. BBC analyst Guy Smiley explained that this was the greatest conversion of dullards with inane habits-hobbies in modern history.

UK casting agents for the HBO series Rome announced an emergency role call for "every rather homely butt or buttess in the kingdom". When asked why they were limiting their star-search to butt-ugly Brits and Brit-esses,casting director Lealand Downe-Couch explained: "The British accent is requisite for films about ancient folk on the Yank media. They think they need a really exotic and unintelligible way of speaking to capture the foreignness".

Stamp-collectors the world over in a single voice screeched: "I thought we were the Philatelists!".

Make Pointer's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
