As part of his drive to involve the 'yoof' into the modern church, the Pope will today include a section of his Christmas blessing in a rap specially written for him by English rap combo, The Incontinence Crew.
The Pontiff told The Spoof:
"Well of course we is concerned about getting our message through to d' young people and that, so I be reaching out to greet them in a gesture that is well cool and proper wicked bangin'"
The Spoof has obtained a transcript of the rap:
Kids of the world Be well proper good
It ain't so cool To be a boy from d'hood
Car-jackin's not on It's not the done thing
So get down the church An' sing brother sing
Pop Svengali and X Factor supremo, Simon Cowell, is watching with interest and if it goes well with the crowds at the Vatican today he's expected to get His Holiness into the studio and get the tune 'in the can' as soon as possible, in time for a rush release in the new year.
His Holiness will be the first religious figure to hit the charts since 'The Singing Nun' over two hundred years ago.
