News that The Spoof editors spiked a story by top journalist Breeze provoked a firestorm of criticism last night.
"I wrote an article on Willy Wonka and it was binned." the well known writer told reporters from his palatial home in the East of Belfast.
Breeze, known for his integrity and stunning good looks, was relaxing at home with his supermodel wife when the story broke.
"As a world renowned author and humanitarian, I believe that people should know the truth but it appears that sinister elements have decided the public should remain unaware of what happens in our prisons." he added.
Celebrities and academics from around the world condemned the Spoof's actions and U2 frontman, Bono, was quoted as saying, "This is nothing more than Nazism, they should be ashamed of themselves."
Leading academic and heavyweight boxing challenger, Professor Stephen Hawking said last night, "Breeze has given so much to the world and to see him treated so shabbily is a disgrace."
Breeze, a young looking 35, who has twice turned down the Nobel peace prize told our reporter last night that he was now in hiding and feared for his life.
"These people have no morals and their web of evil reaches everywhere. I won't be going near any sushi restaurants, I can tell you that."
In their defense, one Spoof editor said "It's a real tough job. We try to keep the content in as good taste as possible - fun for all the family! We apologise for any upset that the editing may have caused Breeze or any members of his family."
