The Cosmos - Alien litter louts are being blamed for a pile of cack discovered on the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
Pics of the offending trash were beamed back to Earth from a robotic probe, the Philae Lander, that picked up imagery of a discarded rubbery johnny.
And a space burger wrapper, possibly part of a Milky Way Happy Meal.
Rosetta Spacecraft technicians monitoring the probe from Mission Control at the European Space Agency HQ in Darmstadt, Germany expressed their shock at the images.
"Ya, it could have been a lot worse," mission leader Professor Fuhrer Von Haimendorf commented, "ladies panties come to mind."
