FOX news has just announced Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as winner of its Summer 2014 annual decency award.
Ceremonies will be held at FOX News headquarters in New York City and attended by President Obama and other dignitaries.
President of this news corporation, Mr. Roger Ailes, will deliver the keynote address praising Mr. Netanyahu's "leadership and restraint."
According to Mr. Ailes' office, the speech will echo Mr. Netanyahu's own assessment of himself as a "democrat of compassion."
Against the hideous onslaught of Palestine's rockets, which fortunately are so crude they rarely injure let alone kill anyone, Mr. Netanyahu has confined himself to indiscriminate bombing of the Gaza Strip.
By the Prime Minister's own admission, the Israeli Missile Defense system is so powerful only the occasional rocket can get through.
Nevertheless, Hamas as an aggressive force must be countered properly, in the most reasonable way possible, which is to bomb everything that might be holding rockets and Hamas fighters in the basement.
This possibility means essentially all of the Gaza Strip, including hospitals, mosques, children's schools, and retirement centers.
So far, 166 Palestinians have been killed, including 36 children, and 1,120 injured, versus 3 Israelis injured.
Today, with steady aplomb and civility, Mr. Netanyahu warned the people of Gaza to leave their buildings no later than noon, because otherwise "anything moving" would be exterminated.
Where they might go in this evacuation is somewhat unclear. However, Israeli forces have indicated they will not target school buses and dump trucks, which could provide shelter underneath, where people might crawl.
Ambulances, however, must be cautious since they might be carrying injured members of Hamas, the most guilty ones.
But all of Palestine is guilty for tolerating Hamas resistance, plus seeking a two state solution and a unity government.
Palestinian resentment and use of rockets in response to settlement expansion and being garrisoned into a narrow strip of land, essentially an apartheid condition, has been excessive.
This aggression has called upon inordinate reserves of patience and kindness from Mr. Netanyahu, a heroic demonstration.
This FOX Decency Ceremony in New York will be attended by numerous world nations, mostly from the West.
This group has kept a keen and worried eye on the plight of Israel, which is located in the heart of the rancorous middle east, and its difficult neighbor Iran nearby.
Applause is expected to be long and sustained, followed by martial music and the waving of flags.
