In the city of Lucknow, India which is part Islamic and part Hindu, a Hindu father and his family watched three hours of junk on television Monday, became angry at the violence and language and proceeded to grab up the television while his son was ordered to raise the window and he hurled the television four stories down to the street.
Luckily, there was no one on the street below as the TV burst into pieces.
As the family sat back down no one said a word until they heard a crash!
The people in an apartment in the next house had hurled their television onto the street also.
That went on all evening and the police allowed it to go on because they could be hit by a flying television.
Suddenly another crash! But this time it came from the window of an apartment across the street. These were Islamic people. Then followed half a dozen other televisions.
They began to wave and smile.
When the police came the next day, he found both Hindu and Islamic families helping clean up the mess and throw it into the bed of one big truck and talking away.
"We have it done. No one was hurt."
The local police say the two religious groups were talking and laughing more than they had ever seen.
"We must thank the television for bringing it all about", joked one officer.
