MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay - The little South American country nestled between Brazil and Argentina has just announced that it will be making the possession and use of marijuana legal.
Uruguayan President Hernando de Hernandez said that there are several reasons why his country has decided on the decision to make pot legal.
He stressed that the sagging economy, due in part to a tremendous drop in tourism, has virtually affected every merchant in the country.
President De Hernandez commented that his government hopes that by making pot legal it will increase the amount of tourists visiting Uruguay by 700 percent and this of course translates into lots and lots of dinero (money).
He also pointed out that it will virtually rid the nation of all drug dealers, traffickers, and basic scum bags.
SIDENOTE: Reports are that several other countries including Paraguay, Chile, and Peru will be watching to see how things go and they may end up jumping on Uruguay's weed bandwagon.
