FCO, LONDON: Due to the significant increase in criminal activity and recent terrorist attacks, Shots were fired by a Spanish Guardia Civil vessel at a jet skier in British waters around Gibraltar, all British citizens are advised to leave Spain immediately.

At around 9am, on Sunday the 18th August 2013, about 38 fishing boats and a small number of pleasure craft were "corralled" by Royal Gibraltar Police(RGP) and naval vessels, after crossing from Spanish waters close to an artificial reef created by the Gibraltarian Government. They were successfully repulsed.

On Monday the 19th August, 2013, the Royal Navy Task Force will be entering Gibraltarian waters. During these ongoing naval maneouvres, the FCO have urged all holiday makers to return to Britain immediately.

Separately, politicians in Catalonia, in northern Spain, have leapt into the row between the UK and Spain over the future of Gibraltar by accusing the Madrid government of bullying the people of the Rock.
