The Conclave has voted, the tallies have been tabulated and the white smoke has flown. The first Latin American Pope has been named, Pope Francis. "''Habemus Papam.'WE have a pope,'
Recent allegations involving child molestation against the Catholic Church have thrown the organization into a tail spin of damage control. According to the church there is no problem, business as usual for the last 2000 years.
The new Pope stems from Argentina. South America is a continent where largely, the age of consent is 13 years old. An observation which appears to have been over looked by the mainstream media and churches across the land.
According to Wikipedia the facts concerning Argentina's age of consent laws are quite plain, the age at which there are no restrictions for sexual activities is 18, while the minimum age of consent is 13 regardless of gender and/or sexual orientation.
Sexual acts with children younger than 13 are strictly illegal. Sexual relations with teens 13-18 are addressed by several laws. There is also a further Argentine law, 'Corruption of minors', which can bring charges to those manipulating minors below the age of 18 into having sexual relations.
So, if the age of consent is 13 where you are from there might not be a real problem if you're diddling little boys. It's a matter of Papal perspective.
