Israel's Vice-Premier Moshe Ya'alon has slammed the US because top general General Martin Dempsey said the US would not be "complicit" in an attack by Israel on Iran.
The word complicit suggests criminal activity, the Vice-Premier stated indignantly, whereas Israel's intent is nothing more than destroying Iran's non-existent nuclear weapons program.
"Now if the word deluded had been used," a spokesperson for the Vice-Premier maintained. "we'd have no objection. After all, delusion has not stopped honorable national defense programs, even in the recent past.
"Even exploitative is less offensive than complict, since we all have to admit A National State must sometimes manipulate the truth in the best interests of the citzenry, who are not always well-informed.
"I would even go so far as to honor the word psychopathic in this case, as with an honorable fervor to go to war, even when the non-existence of the threat is indicated by our own intelligence service as well as the CIA."
This spokesperson concluded: "Deluded, exploitative, psychopathic-in our view these words stop short of complicit, and really should have been considered as alternatives by this important US general."
