image for Anna Chapman 'accomplice' arrested in Man From U.N.C.L.E-style fake mustache fiasco
The suspect was wearing some of the 'parure' of the show's props

Netherlands - A fake mustache missing since 2001 from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library collection of espionage artifucts is in the frame according to NATO sources.

Apparently it dropped off during this morning's arrest of an alleged Anna Chapman 'accomplice' following lengthy surveillance of missing KGB partners.

Officials said the suspect, named only as 'Raymond P', may have fallen for using the trophy exhibit from the Library's impressive array that includes props, costumes and memorabilia from the 1960s cult TV series The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

The four inch long mink-fur mustache is part of a parure that includes a codpiece, beard and fur-lined cuffs.

It featured in several of the show's episodes such as 'The Green Opal Affair', 'The Vulcan Affair' and 'The Double Affair' - mainly on T.H.R.U.S.H. operatives hunted by spybusters Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin.

This morning it suddenly flew off Raymond P's face during a honeytrap moment that saw him attempt to pass German classified documents to a couple, subsequently arrested in Marburg.

The detained suspects were being watched by the German Federal Prosecutor's Office - possibly as following a tip-off from William Shatner and/or Leonard Nimoy who appeared together in 'The Project Strigas Affair' episode in 1964.

Leo G Carroll was the show's awesome spymaster Alexander Waverly.
