Carol Ling Tries To Explain 'A Christmas Carol' To Bah Humbug

United Nations-- Mr. Bah Humbug of Laos has been elected as the new head of the United Nations. Mr. Humbug replaces Mr. Ban-ki Moon of South Korea. Bah Humbug is a very common name in Laos and is very similar to the name John Smith in the United States. Just by chance, Mr. Humbug will take his oath of office on December 25th.

Mr. Bah Humbug is married to Mary Noel. Bah and Mary married last Christmas at the Ebeneezer Baptist Church in Dickens, New York. Mr. Humbug's best man was Thi Ni Thimh, the ambassador from Vietnam. Reverend Bob Krachit was the minister.

"I'm not sure Bah understood all the strange coincidences involved with our marriage." said Mary. "I explained everything to him, but he's from a very different culture so it's hard to understand it all." she explained.

Although Mr. Humbug was married in a Christian church, he remains a devout atheist. December 25th is just another day to him.

"I married Mary on Merry Christmas." said Mr. Humbug in broken English. "I no understand what the dickens everyone is talking about."

Suddenly, Mr. Humbug's personal secretary, Carol Ling, came into the office and interrupted his train of thought.

"I hope you have a nice Christmas, Carol." said Mr. Humbug to his secretary.
