TEHRAN, Iran--The saga surrounding the two U.S. hikers being held in Iran continues. Imprisoned two years for entering Iran on a mountain pass instead of on a road, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal have been jerked around the news in the recent weeks.
Iranian courts have gone back and forth stating that the hkers' release was imminent, then saying that it wasn't a done deal, then saying again that it was going to happen.
"How do Americans say?" asked one Iranian judge. "Cool your horses? Hold your jets? Yes?"
The American hikers' lawyer, Masoud Shafiei, said that the only remaining obstacle is the procedural transfer of $1 million in bail money.
"In the latest demand set forth by Tehran courts, the $1 million is desired in small bills to be tucked into the panties of pretty American pole dancers."
It is estimated that some 75,000 to 100,000 dancers will have to be recruited in order to make the delivery possible, which leads the likelihood of the hikers' release dragging into next week.
