At a contentious meeting on solving the US debt crises which included members of both leading parties of Congress as well as some other members of some other parties that no one could give a crap about, US President, Barack Obama, abruptly left at the meeting's onset to play in a pickup basketball game which was taking place at a local high school.
It was rumored that the meeting attendees' behavior degenerated into name calling, accusations of cronyism, chair throwing, hair pulling, back stabbing and fisticuffs that included head smashing haymakers. All of which occurred before the meeting's start, where at which time, all of the attendees' were discussing American Idol.
Obama was counting on the meeting to have the same outcome as all of the previous meetings which ended within 20 minutes. The agenda for those meetings was for the members of each of the leading parties in Congress to completely disagree with each other on everything possible. The members of the parties that no one could give a crap about were to just stay in their seats and keep their "fucking mouths shut".
Unfortunately for President Obama, the meeting was delayed 15 minutes as pretty much all of the meeting members, including Obama himself, had to serve a timeout for their participation in the melee that took place before the meeting's start.
Obama was playing at the local high school court due to the fact that the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves were using the White House basketball court for a shoot around before meeting the president for an award ceremony later on that night.
There was quite a lot of confusion as to why the team that finished with the worst record in the NBA in 2011 was invited to the White House for an awards ceremony, while the NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks were passed over.
In an interview with the president at the pick-up game that was between a bunch of locals and his White House staff team which is named the Beltway BSers. Obama was asked why the Timberwolves were invited to the White House and why they were using the President's court for a shoot around, the president responded:
"They're getting ready for the game tonight against us, the Beltway BSers. We feel that we have a much better chance of beating Minnesota than we do of beating Dallas".
