Planking across America

Seattle, Washington - In an effort to draw attention to their cause for peace "Plankers" have planned what they are calling "Planking Across America". In this event they hope to form one continuous human plank chain over mountains, buildings and waterways. Each participant will be asked to gather sponsors and donate a case of food for the hungry. The month long event is scheduled to begin Oct. 1st.starting in Seattle, Washington.

"Getting enough people to plank up the space needle and back down again may be a challenge," one organizer said.

Plankers stress that what the world needs now is love and a good laugh. Peter Lowe an avid "planker" states that he had to stop watching the daily news reports because they were making him so depressed.

"In most cases I realized there was nothing I could do to change the fate of the people involved in the news stories I was seeing. I later resolved that maybe I could not do anything to help most of them, but I could do something to help at least some of them. This food drive and "planking" event will let the world know that we care and are willing to share a good meal and a bit of humor with those most less able to cope with the times and very sad circumstances."

People from all over the world are said to be planning to attend. Some having formed their own "planking" teams. Overall it may prove to be a unifying project for everyone involved and a great benefit for those in need.
