The Department Of Homeland Security is investigating claims that the dangerously high levels along the Mississippi river is part of an Al Qaeda plot to destroy the economies of Louisiana and neighbouring states.
The CIA has been monitoring recent e mail and cell phone conversations suggesting that thousands of Al Qaeda operatives have been moving into cities such as New Orleans and Baton Rouge and deliberately overloading the urban sewer systems with excessive outpourings of urine.
The resultant flooding has been the worst in Louisiana since 1927 and officials have grave concerns that the major industries of tourism and seafood will collapse.
CIA operatives, working in conjunction with state police, have started rounding up suspected cell members but governor Bobby Jindal is fearful that the damage has already been done :
"I have great concerns that these thousands of terrorists have already evacuated their bladders to such an extent that even the mighty Mississippi will not be able to cope with the increased fluid dispersal.
An ecological and economic disaster is just around the corner".
