TV celebrity Arnold Schwarzenegger is now California's new governor.
On winning the election, Arnie said "Today California has given me the greatest thing of all, you have given me your trust by voting for me."
He then continued to say, "We must fight against terrorism that is infecting the world. In our homes, in our schools, in our places of work, in our towns, in our cities. I am taking a personal stance against terrorists worldwide."
Arnie then took of his suit jacket, and then his pants, and stood in front of his astonished and shocked voters dressed in olive green combat-trousers and a leather jacket with hand grenades and all manner of guns attached.
"I will fight for you, my people of California, the people of the United States, and the people of the free world. We cannot live in terror, the perpetrators of terror must be stopped."
In closing Mr. Schwarzenegger said, "I'll be back."
He is currently reported to already be in Spain where Osama Bin Laden is thought to be hiding. No-one is sure how long Arnie's battle against terrorism will last.
Film director James Cameron (The Terminator, Terminator 2), is said to have exclusive rights to make a movie of Arnie's brave fight into politics and his battle against terrorism.
